The Abilene Police Department said Monday it is still cracking down on a specific driving area to reduce the number of accidents in town.

In April, Abilene police announced the Traffic and Patrol Division would begin focusing on South 14th Street from Sayles Boulevard to Clack Street.

They are still focusing on that area, hoping to reduce the number of accidents.

Drivers can expect an increase in the number of traffic stops in the area.  They encourage people to drive carefully not only in that area but whenever they get behind the wheel.
