Cassandra is excited to make Abilene her new home. She grew up on the south side of San Antonio and always aimed for big goals.
During her senior year in high school, Cassandra received a year-long internship at WOAI-TV with no intention of being in front of the camera. After a few days she fell in love with reporting and journalism.
After high school, Cassandra attended the University of the Incarnate Word and majored in journalism. Her sophomore year she returned to WOAI-TV as an intern. That same year she became an employee in the production department. Cassandra finished off her degree, with honors, and became a first generation college graduate.
At WOAI, Cassandra loved working with an amazing production department but never lost her passion for reporting. She continually worked with producers and reporters, hoping to improve her work. Much of Cassandra’s writing aired on the evening newscasts, and she even made her on-air debut in San Antonio.
In Abilene, Cassandra plans to polish her writing skills. She looks forward to telling the stories of everyday people in the community.
