KTXS (K-Texas), the dominant news station in Abilene, Texas is looking for an ANCHOR. The person hired for this job will co-anchor at 10 and report for the early newscast.

The ideal candidate is a passionate journalist who will be a leader in the newsroom. Someone who will ask the tough questions, refuse to take no for an answer, dig deeper and hold the powerful accountable.

You must have solid news judgment, the ability to multi-task and be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

This is a primary anchor position, so 2-4 years of experience at a broadcast TV station is preferred. A college degree in journalism or related field is required. Experience with ENPS and Edius, or other non-linear editing platforms, are a big plus.

WEEKEND SPORTS ANCHOR – RERPORTER (Posted 6/29/2016) (click here to apply online)

KTXS (K-Texas), the dominant #1 television station in Abilene, Texas, is looking for a Weekend Sports Anchor-Reporter.

The person hired for this position will cover teams at the three universities that call Abilene home, as well as all the high schools across the Big Country. Among the universities is Abilene Christian University which is becoming an NCAA Division 1 school and is a member of the Southland Conference. The Wildcats are scheduled to play several big name opponents over the next couple of seasons, including Texas A&M, Baylor and Mississippi State.

The person hired for this job will anchor the sports segment of weekend newscasts and our weekly, "Sports Sunday" program. They will also play a key role in our “Football Friday Night” show during the high school football season.

We’re looking for someone who can go beyond the highlights and tell stories that capture the emotion and human spirit, the things that have made sports a fabric of American culture.

Our station has top-notch photographers, two WiFi cameras, a live truck, the regions only satellite truck, and is the only station in the market broadcasting in high definition.

A college degree in journalism or related field is required. Experience with shooting, ENPS and Edius is a big plus.
