It looks like if screenwriter Kelly Marcel gets her way, "Fifty Shades of Grey" will be as "adult" as readers have hoped.
The writer, who was brought on to pen the script for Universal's adaptation of the S&M-themed best-seller last year, recently told the U.K.'s Sunday Times that she wants to make sure "Fifty Shades'" steaminess remains intact.
"It will be rated NC-17," Marcel said, via EW. "It will be raunchy."
Universal isn't as convinced. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, a spokesperson said that a screenplay hasn't been written yet and the adaptation doesn't have a designated rating.
