KTXS, serving the Abilene-Sweetwater DMA, seeks an ASSISTANT NEWS DIRECTOR to join the leading news station in Abilene, Texas.

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and producer, has exemplary management and supervisory skills and exhibits a passion to cover local television news with a record of doing so with credibility and integrity.

The Assistant News Director works closely with the news staff, guides reporters in the development of their stories, manages the assignment desk, proof-reads scripts, and provides content support on all of our digital platforms.

The Assistant News Director is also a brand manager and assists the News Director in building our annual strategic plan.

A college degree in journalism or related field and at least 5 years of experience at a broadcast TV station is required. Previous management experience preferred.

MORNING METEOROLOGIST (click here to apply online)

KTXS, the ABC affiliate serving the Abilene-Sweetwater DMA, is seeking a METEOROLOGIST.

This person will anchor our weekday morning newscasts, as well as network cut-ins. They will also fill in for other KTXS meteorologists as needed. 

KTXS is the only station in the market with Live Doppler RADAR.  We also have all the tools to help tell an amazing weather story utilizing the very latest Weather Company (WSI) weather graphics. 

The ideal candidate is a hard-working, effective communicator with a passion for storm tracking. They will also be able to post web stories and utilize social media platforms, including Facebook (Live) and Twitter, to deliver our message.

A degree in meteorology or related field is required. Previous experience is a big plus.

Recent KTXS meteorologists have gone directly to Little Rock, AR and Austin, TX.
