Police cars were abundant outside the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services office at 3610 Vine St. on Tuesday.
It was part of an Abilene police investigation into Child Protective Services’ handling of a child-neglect case that resulted in one child dying.
According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, a CPS supervisor allegedly closed an 11-month-old investigation involving Tiffany Klapheke’s daughter, Tamryn -- six days before officers found the 22-month-old had died as a result of severe neglect.
Tiffany Klapheke, 22, remains jailed on $500,000 bond for neglecting her three children. The other two daughters survived after a hospital stay.
