ABILENE, Texas -

Hundreds of families visited the Abilene Zoo Saturday to celebrate Halloween at "Boo at the Zoo!"

Kids and parents wore their costumes to walk the trails at the Zoo. Children were able to get a head start on their Trick-or-Treating.

"There's animals, and then there's candy, and costumes, so mixed together it's like ahhh," Mary Ribaudo said. Ribaudo was one of the children who took advantage of the Trick-or-Treating.

Ta'nyah Nickerson also enjoyed the Halloween theme at the Zoo.

"This is my favorite thing to do," Nickerson said. "I love the Zoo so much. It's fun!"

Local Abilene businesses also handed out prizes. There was also a costume contest.

Boo at the Zoo events are held all over the country, with hundreds of zoos hosting their own Halloween parties.
