It's the 2012 Spring Clean Event.

City workers and volunteers have been staying busy at the Environmental Recycling Center for the past three days, helping residents of Abilene do some spring cleaning and get rid of those eye soars that might just be lying around.

Bob Ervin, Abilene Recycling Center said, "This is a chance for everyone to clean all the junk out of their house or yard or garage."

More than a 1,000 people drove up ready to unload someone else's potential treasure.

The center accepted wood piles, shrubs, bushes and even hazardous chemicals like paint and cleaning supplies.

If you missed the spring clean event that's okay, the Environmental Recycling Center is open 7 days a week, excluding some holidays.
