About 200 members of the 9th Bomb Squadron returned to Dyess Air Force Base late Wednesday night from deployment.

They returned from a six month deployment to Central Command's Area of Responsibility. The group was performing operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Their deployment was part of the largest B-1 deployment in history.

Family and friends gathered at the base to wish the troops a nice welcome home. Many brought signs and presents.

"I'm just so overwhelmed with positive energy," one happy wife of a returning soldier said. "I'm just really proud of him more than anything. It's just a huge sigh of relief to finally have him here and our family can be complete again."

The group consists of the 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron and 9th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit.
