Hendrick Continues To Buy Property On, Around Pine Street
POSTED: 6:47 pm CDT August 30, 2010UPDATED: 8:20 am CDT August 31, 2010ABILENE, Texas -- The Central Appraisal District website shows 26 Hendrick Medical Center properties on the Taylor County tax rolls that are located on Pine Street.One of the more recent businesses notified their building had been sold is the M&J Tobacco Shop.Other shop owners in the area wonder where the support is for small business owners.Edward Walker who owns Walker Furniture said, "Abilene I thought advertised that they buy locally, don't go to Dallas, Fort Worth, buy locally. Well where are you going to buy locally if all businesses are going out of business?"A number of shops on Pine are still in negotiations with Hendrick Medical Center.
