POSTED: 1:24 pm CDT September 1, 2010UPDATED: 2:39 pm CDT September 1, 2010ABILENE, Texas -- For the first time ever, you can receive a vaccination that's expected to cover three different versions of the flu, including the Swine Flu.
A record amount of this vaccine is expected this year.
Last year, doctor's offices and clinics were packed with people hoping to receive their shots.
A yearly recommended version of this shot targets two other strains, a type-B strain and the H3N2 strain.
Infants under 6 months and people with a strong egg allergy are urged not to get this vaccination.
The Centers for Disease Control say getting a flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and those around you.
There is also a high-dose flu vaccine available for seniors.
As people age, their bodies become weaker and may not respond as actively to a flu shot.
The high-dose version quadruples what someone normally receives in a standard flu shot.
