Abilene Police: Drivers With Prior Convictions Arrested Again For DWI

Here are a few examples of the Abilene Police calls over the last 24 hours.

Officer Brannon responded to a vehicle accident in the 100 block of Sayles. Officer Brannon contacted one of the drivers, a 44-year-old male. The subject was intoxicated and was arrested for third degree felony driving while intoxicated with an accident. The subject had four prior convictions for DWI.

Officer Adkins responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of South 7th. The victim stated her husband, a 47-year-old male, had hit her in the face during an argument. The subject was arrested for assault/family violence.

Officer Jennings stopped a vehicle in the 2500 block of South Treadaway. The driver, a 23-year-old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for class A misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He had a prior conviction for DWI. The subject gave a breath sample that was more than double the legal limit.

This incident was the 452nd DWI in Abilene since Jan. 1.
