POSTED: 6:47 pm CDT September 4, 2010UPDATED: 8:02 pm CDT September 4, 2010ABILENE, Texas -- Senior runningback Herschel Sims separated his shoulder early in the game, but he did return later. Herschel scored a touchdown after coming back later in the game.
Head coach Steve Warren says they will wait to have Herschel evaluated Sunday.
Despite the Franklinton Demons threatening in the first half, the Abilene High football team jumped out to a 14-0 nothing lead at Shotwell Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Senior quarterback Ronnel Sims connected on passes to Kirk Mann and Jacob Martinez for those touchdowns.
With less than a minute to go in the first half, Franklinton scores a rushing touchdown and gets the 2-point conversion. The momentum continues in the second half, and the Demons tie the score at 14.
After giving up another score, Abilene High routes Franklinton in the rest of the second half, ending the game with a final score of 35-20.
Saturday's game is also bringing an expected boost to area restaurants.
Lytle Land and Cattle employee, Talitha Ford, says they're expecting to be a little busier.
"Just a little busier than usual on Saturday afternoon. Saw couple of the opposing team from last night come in. Had a lot from the home team from Abilene High show today," said Ford.
