Sheriff's Office Getting New Body Armor Thanks To NRA
Grant Will Buy Six Vests For Deputies
POSTED: 1:03 pm CDT March 23, 2011UPDATED: 1:17 pm CDT March 23, 2011ABILENE, Texas -- The Taylor County Sheriff's Office is getting new body armor thanks to a grant from the National Rifle Association.
The funds were awarded earlier this year in an effort to provide body armor that may not otherwise be available because of budget constraints.
The $3,450 grant will buy enough armor for six deputies.
The sheriff's office says the vests are guaranteed for at least five years.
