SAN ANTONIO (AP) -

Three of four San Antonio women imprisoned for sexually assaulting two girls in 1994 could soon walk free.

An attorney for the "San Antonio 4" and prosecutors are expected to discuss an agreement Monday that could pave the way for the three remaining behind bars to be released on bond. Both sides agree that the women's convictions for sexually assaulting two girls cannot stand due to faulty expert testimony.

The fourth was paroled last year.

They were convicted in 1998 based on an expert's testimony that vaginal injuries sustained by a 9-year-old girl could have been caused by an assault. Prosecutor Rico Valdez and the women's attorney, Mike Ware, agree the testimony wouldn't stand today.

One girl has also recanted her testimony.
