ABILENE, Texas -- Abilene grandmother Clara Wellmaker, 55, has been arrested for allegedly punching an Abilene Police officer in the face – twice.Wellmaker was charged with assault of a public servant, a third-degree felony.According to police, there was a disagreement over the custody of Wellmaker's grandchildren, and she became violent and tried to flee with the children.When police intervened, Wellmaker allegedly hit an officer twice in the face with her closed fists.Wellmaker is free after posting bail.
