LEAGUE CITY, Texas (AP) -

Authorities say six people have been killed when an SUV speeding from police and reaching speeds of 100 mph struck another vehicle southeast of Houston.

League City police spokeswoman Reagan Pena said two people were killed in a Dodge Durango that was fleeing police Sunday evening. She says the Durango ran a stop sign and struck a Honda Accord with four occupants. All four people in the Honda were killed. Pena said Monday authorities believe the four were related.

The pursuit began when an officer in Dickinson attempted to pull over the Durango because its driver was operating erratically and not using headlights.

The driver fled into nearby League City where the Durango ran the stop sign. The SUV then struck a utility pole, knocking out power to the area.
