A Secret Santa pays off a family's layaway for Christmas
Santa Claus is making his rounds early this Christmas.
Some kind person had the heart to give one family toys and a suit for their son. Hailey Durbin didn't know if she could purchase gifts she had on layaway in time for Christmas this year.
"We were going to pay it off probably on Saturday or Friday night, depending on when my fiancé got his check or not, said Durbin. "We didn't know if he was going to be able to get his check before or after Christmas."
A Secret Santa paid for her items at Kmart just days before the holiday.
"We went on Saturday to get it all out and the lady said all you owe is one cent," said Durbin. "I said that's not right. We still have over $200 to pay."
Haley told us, she was overwhelmed with emotion when she heard the news.
"I was just crying," said Durbin. "I felt like I couldn't breathe. I was excited and wondering who might have done this for us."
She still doesn't know who the mysterious Good Samaritan was, but she said, "I would tell them God bless you and thank you so much for giving my baby Christmas."
Haley's Christmas message to others is to pay it forward.
"If somebody gives you something that thoughtful, give it back out," said Durbin. "Give what it is you've been given."
Haley's fiance told us that this generous gift allowed him to purchase some basic need items for their family.
