A 5-year-old girl was injured Thursday evening when she slipped and fell as she was running along side of her mom's car.

The accident happened in the 7900 block of Starlight Drive. The mom told police her child was following her as she drove to the mailbox and fell down.

The back tire of her vehicle ran over the girl's leg. The little girl was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

Her injures are non-life threatening, and police said it was just an unfortunate accident.
