Just in time for the 4th of July, the Abilene High School Band is hosting a fireworks fundraiser.
Band members Brianna Carrisalez and Vanessa Gonzalez visited KTXS This Morning on Thursday to talk about the band fundraiser.
The proceeds from the firework sales benefits all things related to the Eagle Band, including new instruments, music, uniforms, and anything else the band needs. All of the money stays in the Abilene Eagle Band program. The fireworks stand is the biggest fundraiser by the Eagle Band.
The fireworks stand used in the fundraiser is the Alama Fireworks Mega Store on I-10, exit Elmdale Road. The stand is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until midnight on the 4th of July.
The stand is staffed completely by band parents, band directors, and band students. Everyone volunteers their time at the stand.
