During his investigation, he contacted the male driver and also observed two juveniles in the vehicle. The driver showed indicators of intoxication and was given field sobriety tests, which he failed. His investigation revealed that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage prior to the traffic stop. The investigation also revealed the children in the vehicle to be under the age of 15. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail where he provided breath samples. Breath samples taken revealed the driver?s BAC to be 0.134 and 0.125. The driver was charged with DWI with child, a felony.

At about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Jacob Weise was dispatched to a shoplifter call at a business in the 4500 block of South 1st Street. A loss prevention employee had contacted APD Dispatch and notified the call-taker that he had two females in custody for alleged theft. Officer Weise?s investigation revealed that both female suspects had concealed merchandise and were leaving the store after the suspects passed all points-of-sale. A loss prevention employee contacted the suspects and awaited police arrival. Each suspect was found to be in possession of store merchandise, which totaled approximately $119. The suspects were arrested for theft.

At about 11:50 p.m., Officer Damien Hutchinson was dispatched to a disturbance that had just occurred in the 2000 block of Westmoreland Street. APD Dispatch had been notified by a victim that a known male suspect had attempted to stab the victim with a knife and left in a vehicle that was described to the call-taker. Officer Hutchinson was nearby and observed the suspect vehicle turn into a driveway in the 1700 block of Lillius Street. Officer Hutchinson contacted and detained the male suspect. During a pat-down for weapons, a knife was located in the suspect?s pocket. The suspect gave the officer permission to retrieve another item in the suspect?s pocket, and Officer Hutchinson pulled out a plastic bag with an unknown substance. The suspect told the officer that the bag contained methamphetamine. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). During the initial altercation with the victim, the suspect allegedly dented the victim?s vehicle. Officer Jonathan Merrick documented the crime in a criminal mischief report.
