An Abilene man was arrested Thursday after police said they saw him taking items from several vehicles.

Police said 51-year-old Randal Day took items from four different vehicles and they pulled him over near the 5000 block of Beltway South. They said he had the stolen property and a firearm with him and that he admitted to entering the cars.

Day is charged with four counts of theft and, as of Monday, is being held in the Taylor County Jail on bond totaling $80,000.

Police said he is also a suspect in many other cases and that he has pending charges with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Day also has previous theft convictions.
