Abilene Police: Man attacks police officer, stun gun used on him
An Abilene policeman was forced to use a stun gun Monday after authorities said a man tried to attack him a second time.
Just before 1 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to a disturbance in progress call on the corner of Yorktown and North 15th street.
According to police, 25-year-old Timothy Villareal was involved in the disturbance and allegedly attacked the officer with a railroad spike. Police said Villareal ran away but allegedly came back and threatened the officer again.
The officer used a stun gun to subdue Villareal and placed him under arrest.
Police said Villareal is charged with assault of a police officer and evading arrest.
The officer did not require medical attention.
