Abilene Police: Man caught with drugs near playground
An Abilene man is behind bars after police said they saw him dealing drugs Friday.
According to police, 39-year-old Roy Johnson Jr. was later caught throwing a pack of cigarettes containing 1.4 grams of crack cocaine on the ground at Stevenson Park on East North 7th Street.
Police said Johnson admitted the pack belonged to him after he was arrested.
Since he was near a public playground, Johnson was charged with third-degree felony delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. He was found in violation of his parole and was being held in the Taylor County Jail on $15,000 bond as of Monday.
