ABILENE, Texas -

An Abilene man was arrested on several charges Friday after he dropped his cigarette and walked away, police said.

According to police, a wanted subject call led an officer to an alley in the 3300 block of North 3rd Street to keep watch on the Briarwood Apartments complex.

According to a police report, the officer saw a man walking away from the complex.

The officer approached the man who gave what the officer considered a suspicious name and date of birth, police said. The officer kept an eye on the man who, when he walked away, allegedly littered by dropping his cigarette.

The man was arrested for class C illegal dumping and was searched. According to police, the man had about three grams of marijuana on him leading to a class B possession of marijuana charge.

According to police, the man also had identification that showed him to be 23-year-old Krenton Lemon. The officer also reported Lemon had outstanding warrants for failure to ID and for possession of marijuana, police said.
