Abilene Police Report: Altercation turns violent, boyfriend arrested for felony assault
From Abilene Police spokesman George Spindler:

At about 10:20 p.m. Monday, Officer Gabe Thompson was dispatched to an unknown disturbance call at a residence in the 3700 block of Caldwell. The calling party had been contacted by another person requesting that she call the police. Officer Thompson arrived and made contact with two female subjects that alleged they had been assaulted by a known male suspect. The investigation further revealed that the victims were a mother and daughter and that the daughter had attempted to thwart a verbal altercation between the mother and boyfriend. The daughter and mother were both assaulted during the altercation when it turned violent. The boyfriend was contacted near the residence. Visible injuries to the daughter were consistent with an assault allegation. A records check revealed that the male suspect had been previously convicted for the offense of assault. Officer Thompson was advised that the altercation stemmed from the suspect’s alleged use of illicit drugs. The suspect was arrested for felony assault family violence.

At about 11:10 p.m. Monday, Office Mary Guitar contacted a motorist in the intersection of North 1st and Shelton Streets for a traffic violation. Officer Guitar contacted the male driver and immediately smelled the odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Officer Guitar also observed that the driver showed signs of intoxication. The driver made an attempt to hide an open container of alcohol as Officer Guitar spoke with the driver. The driver was given field sobriety tests which he failed. Officer Guitar arrested the male subject for driving while intoxicated (with open container).

At about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Officers Gabe Thompson and Rusty Antilley were dispatched to a disturbance in progress at a residence in the 1700 block of North 5th Street. APD Dispatch had been notified by a concerned citizen that a fight between two male subjects was in progress outside her residence. As these officers arrived on-scene, they witnessed both male subjects actively fighting with each other. This breech of peace garnered the attention of the residents in the neighborhood and both subjects were arrested for disorderly conduct.
