At about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, an officer with APD in plain-clothes contacted a female subject at a business in the 1600 block of Hwy 351 in an undercover capacity. The subject was solicited for sex and agreed to engage in sex acts, including sexual intercourse, for monetary benefit. The investigation revealed that the female subject had been previously convicted for prostitution The female subject was arrested for an enhanced charge of misdemeanor prostitution.

At about 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress call at a business in the 3100 block of North 3rd Street. APD Dispatch had been notified by a concerned citizen that a male subject was using bolt cutters to cut-off locks at a storage unit. Officer Robert Brannon arrived on-scene and contacted the male suspect inside a vehicle that had also been described by the concerned citizen. Officer Brannon’s investigation revealed that the bolt cutters, along with possible stolen property, were in plain view inside the suspect vehicle. The suspect was detained and was uncooperative. The suspect kept providing different dates of birth during the preliminary investigation and was given several opportunities to provide correct identifying information. However, the suspect failed to comply with Officer Brannon’s request The suspect was arrested for failure to identify and the property items were seized pending further investigation.

Just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Damien Hutchinson went to make a citizen contact at a residence in the 1900 block of Westview Drive after observing what appeared to be several young subjects in the garage. But when he approached these subjects, one of the male subjects acted suspiciously by throwing something out the back door. His observations also confirmed that there was alcohol being consumed on the premises by these young subjects. Officer Hutchinson’s investigation revealed that subject #1 had thrown the unknown item out the door and that after locating the item, it was identified as a cigarette that contained marijuana. Subject #1 was arrested and during a search of his person, a baggie of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Further investigation revealed that all but one of the subjects at this gathering were under the age of 21. The investigation revealed that male subject #2 had furnished the alcohol to the minors at this gathering. Subject #1 was arrested for possession of marijuana and subject #2 was arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors.
