With all the sadness still surrounding the mass shooting in Colorado, local churches are seeing what they can do to support those affected.
In the wake of tragedy, many people look to their home church for comfort.
Even though this Anson church doesn't know any of the victims of the mass shooting in Aurora, they are looking for opportunities to support them from a far.
The main way they're reaching out to those affected: through prayer.
Pastor Cody Cochran said that when you can't be there in person, you can be there in spirit.
"Since we're not there we have to ask God to be there on our be half." Cochran said.
The message Sunday morning was about sowing into the lives of younger generations.
And according to Youth Leader Callan Rice, there's a way we can prevent these tragic events from happening in our own backyard.
"We need to sow into this generation because obviously what happened in Aurora could have been prevented. There could have been anger, there could have been bitterness." Rice said.
