Abilene firefighters battled a blaze late Friday at 5 Queen Ann's Lace in Mesquite Forest subdivision in South Abilene.

The fire was reported at the structure, located off of Buffalo Gap Road near FM 707, shortly before 10 p.m.

Fire officials said the fire started in the garage and that most of the damage was confined there, although there was smoke and water damage throughout the home.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, officials said, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
