ABILENE, Texas -

An Abilene man who escaped from the Taylor County Jail in November 2011 was sentenced to prison Monday after accepting a plea deal on another charge.

Dustin Bates, 32, was jailed in November for manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing a firearm while a convicted felon and driving while intoxicated.

According to deputies, Bates led them on a two-and-a-half hour car chase in a State Supported Living Center vehicle.
