An Abilene man was arrested Tuesday on charges of delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and possession of a firearm by a felon.

During the execution of a search warrant, police said they found 20 grams of methamphetamine in 22-year-old Joeangel Damian's apartment.

Police also said they found scales and packaging material along with two firearms in the apartment.

According to police, Damian was released from prison within the past two years and his apartment is located less than 1,000 feet away from Craig Middle School.

Damian was arrested for first-degree felony delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in a drug free zone and third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
