An Abilene man charged with stealing several thousand dollars in property from a business pleaded guilty Monday.

In November 2011, police said they caught 28-year-old George Rodriguez and his accomplice, 35-year-old Troy Twigg, stealing $56,000 of property from a south side business.

Police arrested the pair and charged them with theft.

Twigg pleaded guilty to the charge in 2011 and was sentenced to three years in a state jail.

Though scheduled for a jury trial on Monday, Rodriguez pleaded guilty instead and was sentenced to 14 months in jail.
