Abilene's February sales tax rebate down nearly 14 percent when compared to last year

ABILENE, Texas -

People aren't reaching into their pockets to spend money in Abilene.

The sales tax rebate for February is $4 million reflects money spent in December. 

The figures are 13.88 percent below the city's 2012 February rebate.

For the period of October-February., sales tax is 9.26 percent below last year and 1.89 percent above the projected FY 13 budget amount.
