A 14-year-old Abilene boy was airlifted to a Fargo, N.D., hospital for injuries sustained in a crash Tuesday afternoon.
The youth was among five people injured in the two-vehicle crash near Churchs Ferry, N.D., at the intersection of U.S. Highways 2 and 281, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said in a release.

“According to the release, Diane Hawkins, 65, of Devils Lake, pulled out into Highway 2 after stopping at the intersection with Highway 281. Her 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was struck in the driver-side door by a 2002 Chevrolet van driven by Shawna Clark, 30, of Abilene.
“Steven Guillory, 26, and Richard Mortell, 28, both of Conway, Ark., and the 14- year-old male were passengers in Clark’s vehicle.
“After being struck, Hawkins’ Trailblazer was pushed into the median and came to a rest on its wheels, the release said. The other vehicle also came to a rest on its wheels.
“Clark, Hawkins and the 14-year-old male were wearing their seat belts, and Clark’s airbag deployed, the patrol said.
“All of the adults were brought to Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake for treatment.
“The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. Road and weather conditions were clear at the time, the release said.
“The crash is still under investigation by the patrol.”
