ABILENE, Texas -

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle was stuck by a train.

According to Abilene police,  Bettie F. McIntyre was driving a Chrysler Town and Country minivan south on T & P Lane about 3:47 p.m. Wednesday when the van was struck by a westbound train at the rail crossing.

The train pushed the vehicle approximately a quarter mile down the tracks before it came to a bridge where the vehicle fell 30 feet to the bottom of a dry creek bed.

A blood sample was taken from the woman and will be forwarded for analysis.  

Abilene police continue to investigate.
