ABILENE, Texas -

Up and down the interstate it was one fender bender after another.

There were some in and around the Abilene area, but a stretch of Interstate 20 through Merkel, 15 miles west of Abilene, definitely saw a consistent amount of car accidents: one after another.

Drivers on the interstate were involved in them or had their trips delayed by one.

Unfortunately for one family, they were involved in accident because of a blown tire that ended up sending one of them to the hospital.

"The daughter, she popped up and hit her head and now she has a little cut on her head," said Joseph Medina, a witness. "The mother came in crying asking for the phone so she could call 911."

There weren't any reported injuries in the other accidents along the interstate, but there were delays.

Closer to Abilene a driver hydroplaned on the Winters Freeway near South 7th Street, but the driver was OK.

KTXS News checked in with other counties, and it was much of the same: a few benders but, fortunately, no serious injuries.
