Over $15,000 worth of damage to a home is under investigation due to burglary and arson.
Someone forced entry and allegedly stole property from the home and ignited a fire in the closet before fleeing the scene.
According to The Abilene Fire and Police Departments around 8 p.m. on Saturday someone driving by noticed smoke in the 3300 block of South 6th Street.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The fire was found in a closet and bedroom of the home, which also went through the ceiling and into the attic.
AFD and APD are investigating this incident as a burglary and arson.
There were no injuries reported and this incident is still under investigation.
Damage to the home is estimated to be around $12,000 to $15,000 dollars
