TUSCOLA, Texas -

After a very successful run as head coach of the Jim Ned Lady Indians, Jim Avery has resigned his position. He has accepted a job at 1A Grady, Jim Ned High School confirmed this week.

Avery spent numerous seasons at the helm of the program, and guided Jim Ned to the 2008 State Title. He capped off his career with the Lady Indians in the 2A State Semi-finals earlier this year.

High School Principal Bobby Easterling tells KTXS Sports, former boys coach Hunter Cooley will step in and become the next head coach.

Cooley led the boys team to the 2008 State Championship game.
