A man riding a bicycle was seriously injured Friday afternoon at the intersection of South 3rd and South Mockingbird.

Police on the scene tell us the bike rider was riding east on South 3rd and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign.

He went out into traffic and struck a black SUV that was going by on Mockingbird. His bicycle ended up under the SUV.

The rider, we don't have his name, appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s. The man was taken by ambulance to Hendrick Medical Center with serious injuries.
