People driving on the freeway in Abilene on Monday may have noticed a long row of bikers making their way into town.
They rode into Abilene with a mission and a flag.
"I live in Texas, I ride a Harley and it's beautiful weather," said Ken Ballard of the Dallas Harley Owners Group. "How much better can it get?"
He's part of the "Nation of Patriots Flag Relay," a cross-country motorcycle convoy traveling to different Harley dealerships, riding under the stars and stripes.
"It left just after Memorial Day from Wisconsin, and is going to go through all the lower 48 states and end up back in Wisconsin at the same dealership just before Labor Day," Ballard said.
All in an effort to raise money for wounded warriors.
Uniformed servicemen were a part of the ceremony.
The guest speaker was Donald Dunagan: retired Marine and former child voice actor, he was even the voice of Bambi the deer.
"This kind of thing, spontaneous, guys doing at their own expense, and some at considerable expense, that's what real America is about, people in their own community standing up and saying what's right, what do we need to do and do it," Dunagan said.
