Body Found in Newman Park

SWEETWATER,Texas -

Sweetwater Police responded to a body found in Newman Park.

We contacted the police department. They tell KTXS they cannot release an identity at this time, but did confirm there was an ongoing death investigation.

The body was allegedly found by a city worker at the park.

Police say the body was sent to Lubbock for an autopsy.
