A body found near railroad tracks in northeast Arkansas belongs to a Texas man who disappeared while riding an Amtrak train from San Antonio to Chicago, according to authorities.
Authorities don't yet know how or why 79-year-old Andrew Haukereid left the train. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that Haukereid was traveling from his home in San Antonio to Chicago to celebrate his birthday.
Clay County Sheriff Gerald McClung said a medical examiner identified the body by matching a gold tooth to Haukereid's dental records.
The sheriff said he does not suspect foul play and that the cause of death is still undetermined.
Haukereid boarded the train on May 19 and was last seen in Little Rock later that night. His body was found Saturday along train tracks near Knobel.
