A Brownwood man was jailed Tuesday for allegedly fondling a young girl.
Lt. Tracy Delgado said the mother of the victim went to Felipe Lopez's house to confront Lopez and his wife about the alleged incident.
A disturbance ensued, and police were called to the house.
Lopez fled the house and was later found hiding in a shed in a backyard.
Lopez was taken into custody and charged with indecency with a child and evading arrest.
Lopez and his wife were found to be illegal immigrants. His wife and her children will be sent to San Angelo for an immigration hearing.
