One-hundred people are setting up tents to camp out in the parking lot of the new Chick-fil-A at 1750 State Hwy 351.
Here's a news release on what exactly is going on:
More than 100 people came prepared to brave the heat and possible rain showers to be part of the North Abilene Chick-fil-A First 100 Camp Out.
The lucky 100, chosen by raffle this morning, will be setting up their tents and camping in the parking lot at 1750 State Hwy 351 (in front of Walmart) until Thursday morning at 6 when they each will receive 52 free Chick-fil-A meal certificates at the grand opening. That's $26,000 worth of free food being given away.
Those camping out include locals, and people from Dallas and San Antonio are also joining in the celebration. Juan Sierra, the self-proclaimed "Godfather" of Texas Chick-fil-A grand openings, drove in from San Antonio to attend his 64th opening.
