At least five car burglaries occurred in the 1900 block of South 19th Street Saturday night.
Residents voiced their concerns.
"There are a lot of things going on here that aren't real kosher," Resident Jon Lohmann said.
Lohmann's mother, Vera Hight, is just one victim of a string of car burglaries in the area.
"It makes you a little bit nervous," she said.
Vera said whoever entered her car got in through the unlocked trunk and looked through everything in the car.
"I'm thankful they didn't get anything," she said. "There wasn't anything in there for them to take."
But Lohmann--who lives just across the street--said someone did take the air conditioning gauges he had left on her porch.
He also said someone recently stole a statue from his front yard.
Another neighbor said his car was also broken into. His speakers were stolen the same night Vera's car was burglarized. He decided to take matters into his own hands.
"He chased them through my yard and they went through here and down the alley and he lost them," Lohmann said.
He described the burglar as a man with dark hair and dark clothing.
According to police, three other South 19th Street residents also had their cars broken into that Saturday night.
"All the neighborhoods are upset," Lohmann said.
Victims said they have reported the crimes and police are working with them.
There are no suspects yet.
