SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A Central Texas sheriff's deputy has been arrested after an alleged drunken driving crash in which police said they twice used a stun gun to get her out of the car.
San Antonio police said Bexar (BEHR) County Deputy Susanna Cervantes, a detention officer, was arrested Thursday night on charges of drunken driving, assault of a public servant causing bodily injury and retaliation.
Police said after Cervantes' car hit concrete poles, she struggled when they tried to get her out. Police say she reached for something in the middle console, so an officer used a stun gun to subdue her.
Authorities said Cervantes already was on unpaid leave after her arrest last fall for allegedly kicking out a patrol car's windows following a domestic disturbance call.
