A church in Brownwood lost part of its roof and suffered water damage Monday night during the storms that struck the area.

The Austin Avenue Church of Christ lost a significant portion of a metal roof of one building, said Brown County Fire Chief Del Albright.

The church, located at 1020 Austin Ave., suffered substantial water damage and faces a clean-up effort Tuesday.
