Coleman man arrested for allegedly exposing himself to Brown County women, children
A Coleman man was arrested after police said he exposed himself to an 8-year-old girl Thursday.
Brownwood police arrested 34-year-old Casey Connelly after allegations he exposed himself to a girl at Heartland Mall in Early and to a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Brownwood.
The mother of the girl told police Connelly exposed himself to her daughter, and then followed her around the mall for a short time.
Connelly fled the mall before officers arrived.
Connelly was caught after a similar incident happened at Wal-Mart Friday.
Police were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot Friday where a woman said Connelly came up to her car, exposed himself, and then asked for her phone number.
The woman was able to get Connelly's license plate number, leading to his arrest.
Connelly was booked in the Brown County Jail on charges of indecency with a child by exposure, indecent exposure, possession of a controlled substance under 2 ounces (K2) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Connelly was released from jail Saturday on bonds totaling $19,500.
Early Chief of Police David Mercer said Early police arrested Connelly in 2009 on an indecent exposure charge, for which Connelly served probation.
"It is unfortunate that during this time of year, individuals who prey on the young come out, which is why we continue to remind parents to be very mindful of where your children are and who is around the," said Mercer.
"Cases like these get full priority and great cooperation between agencies in order to locate and arrest these type of individuals," said Mercer.
