The Department of Public Safety told KTXS Tuesday it will be keeping an eye out for unsafe drivers during the 4th of July holiday.
DPS troopers will be out in full force Wednesday.
They will be looking for aggressive driving and for drunk drivers.
They will also be making an effort to make sure drivers and their passengers are wearing their seat belts.
DPS also encouraged drivers to drive defensively.
The local effort is part of a statewide effort for troopers to make sure people travel safely and have fun during the holiday.
