Thursday night, a truly inspirational woman in the Abilene community was honored at the grace museum.

Dr. Virginia Connally, the first female physician in Abilene will celebrate her 100th birthday on December 4th and was recognized as part at this month's "Museum Matters: Engaging History" event tonight at the Grace.

Dr. Connally took questions from the audience and reflected on her medical career which started in 1940.

Connally was also the first female Chief of Staff at Hendrick Medical Center, as well as the first female president of the Taylor-Jones Medical Society.
